What's the difference between travel risk management and duty of care?

Only when companies understand the two concepts in relation to each other can they start implementing a foolproof travel risk management strategy to assess, respond to and mitigate risks.

The why and the what: duty of care and travel risk management

Let’s clear up the confusion around duty of care and travel risk management.It’s not uncommon to hear people say things like “If only we’d been better at our duty of care, we could’ve saved the company and our employees so much trouble” or “Not every country in the world expects companies to comply with travel risk management.”In these examples, the terms duty of care and travel risk management are used interchangeably, which is incorrect. It’s a simple semantic trap that’s easy to fall into. What’s getting mixed up here is what companies need to do in order to ensure the safety of their employees and how they’re going to do it.Duty of care is a company’s moral and legal obligation to keep its employees safe.
