PR and Social Media Intern

About Us

Perk (formerly TravelPerk) is the intelligent platform for travel and spend management. Built to tackle the time-consuming, manual work that gets in the way of real work, our tools automate everything from travel bookings to expenses, invoice processing, and more. By eliminating this shadow work that wastes hours, erodes morale, and saps innovation, we’re on a mission to power real work, with real impact.

We’re trusted by more than 10,000 companies worldwide, including Wise, On Running, Breitling, and Fabletics, and we’re tackling the 7 hours of lost productivity per employee each week, a $1.7 trillion problem.

Founded in 2015, Perk has grown into a global company of more than 1,800 people across 12 offices globally, with headquarters in London and Boston. We combine innovation, control, and simplicity to transform how businesses work and how people feel at work.

At Perk, we’re driven by our values, like being an owner, delivering a 7-star experience, and working as one team. We value curiosity, purpose, and mindset, not just knowledge, to unlock the power in your potential. Our talent-tense team brings together leading minds from travel and SaaS, representing over 70 countries. If you’re excited about having a real impact and shaping how millions of people experience work, we’d love you on the team.

🎬 Powering Real Work

About the Role

We’re looking for a proactive and detail-oriented PR and Social Media Intern to join our growing Marketing team. As we expand into new markets and take on larger strategic initiatives, this role will provide essential support to scale our press office and social media efforts.

You’ll be part of a small, ambitious team, working closely with our PR and social leads. This internship offers a hands-on opportunity to develop your skills across media relations, social media content and community management, campaign reporting, awards and events. In this role you will balance creativity and storytelling with the analytical skills to track performance and spot opportunities.

PLEASE NOTE: Your University must be willing to sign a 6-month full-time (40 hours / week) internship agreement with Perk. Please double check if this is possible with your institution prior to applying.

What You’ll Do

  • You’ll support the day-to-day operations of both PR and social media, including:
  • Community Management: Monitor and respond to DMs, comments, tags, and mentions across channels, flag key conversations, and help maintain a consistent brand voice.
  • Content Calendar Support: Assist in building and maintaining the monthly social content calendar alongside the Social Media Manager, ensuring assets, links, and publish dates are accurate and up-to-date.
  • Creative Execution: Edit and export assets, support basic Reel editing or filming, and adapt content for different platforms.
  • Trend Research & Listening: Track relevant trends, viral formats, and competitor activity, monitor social awareness days, and suggest timely content opportunities.
  • Press Office Support: Monitor the press inbox, flag key news, assist with inbound media requests, compile coverage reports, and maintain the journalist database.
  • Awards & Events: Research opportunities, track deadlines, and support content prep for speaker engagements.
  • Reporting & Admin: Help prepare slides and presentations for monthly or campaign performance reports, share wins through internal channels, update the press centre, and capture actions from team meetings.

What You'll Bring

We’re looking for someone who is fluent in English and Spanish and currently studying  PR, communications, or a related marketing field. You should be highly organised, with a sharp eye for detail, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, international environment. Familiarity with AI tools (particularly large language models), social media platforms, and basic content editing will be a big plus.

You don’t need deep experience, but you do need a willingness to learn fast, work hard, and take ownership of your work. In return, you’ll gain exposure to international PR strategy, social media best practice, mentorship from senior team members, and the chance to contribute meaningfully from day one.

What You’ll Gain

  • Real-world experience in a high-growth, global SaaS business
  • Ongoing coaching, mentorship, and professional development
  • A fun, inclusive, and international team culture
  • The opportunity to make a real impact in a mission-driven company

Our Commitment

At Perk, we care about your growth. Our internship program is built to help you learn, contribute meaningfully, and explore your career path in tech. We prioritize experience and potential over academic credentials and are proud to be an equal opportunity employer. Everyone is welcome, and every perspective matters.

What we'll offer:

  • 6-month contract
  • Scholarship 1000€ (gross) / month
  • Possibility to be hired full-time on a permanent contract at the end of the internship period based on business needs
  • Coffee and beverages, fresh fruit and other breakfast stuff provided
  • A fun, fast-paced experience that will allow you to grow as a professional

Be ready for an incredible journey that will take a lot from you, but also give a lot back. Each person on our team is amazing at what they do, and you'll be pushed to be your absolute best.

  • This position requires being based in Barcelona
  • A valid work permit for Spain that will allow you to work on a permanent basis with no restrictions.
  • English is the official language at the office

How We Work

As such, this role requires you to be based within commuting distance of our London or Barcelona hub. We fundamentally believe in the value of meeting in-real-life to improve connectivity, productivity, creativity and ultimately making us a great place to work.

Perk is a global company with a diverse customer base, and we want to make sure the people behind our product reflect that. We’re an equal opportunity employer, which means you’re welcome at Perk regardless of how you look, where you’re from, or anything else that makes you, well, you

We believe real connection happens in real life. That’s why we follow an IRL-first approach, with most teams working together in person three days a week. Some roles, such as Customer Care, spend more time in the office to stay close to our customers and each other.

Our hubs are designed for collaboration and focus, spaces where ideas flow, creativity sparks, and people thrive.

We hire for potential, curiosity, and impact, not just formal credentials. What matters most is your ability to grow, learn, and make a difference.

As a global company serving diverse customers, we want our teams to reflect that same diversity. Whoever you are and wherever you’re from, you’re welcome at Perk.

At Perk, we use AI-powered tools to make parts of our recruitment process smoother and create a better experience for candidates, helping our Talent team focus on what matters most: connecting with people. Every hiring decision is made by real humans, our talent team and hiring managers, not by AI.
