The Role

We are looking for a Motion Designer committed to excellence to join Perk’s creative team on a 12-month fixed term contract. We aim to seamlessly blend functionality with user engagement, elevating our user and brand experience to new heights. We believe in the power of design to transform the ordinary into the extraordinary. Join us in our pursuit of excellence and be a part of a team that values precision, creativity, and impactful design.

What will you be doing?

As a Motion Designer at Perk, you will play a key role in shaping our brand and user experience. Working within cross-functional teams, you'll lead the conceptualisation, execution and delivery of best-in-class motion design projects to elevate our brand and effectively communicate our value through our website, product, and marketing channels.

  • Using creativity and technical skills to craft exceptional motion graphics for brand and marketing initiatives, digital campaigns, events, presentations, product explainers, etc., that engage and resonate with our audience.
  • Translating complex concepts into compelling visual narratives and leading the storyboarding and editing process for internal and external projects with meticulous attention to detail and narrative coherence.
  • Provide clear ideas and focused direction, working collaboratively with designers, developers and marketers to develop concepts, storyboards and treatments that raise the bar across all our motion projects.
  • In collaboration with the product design team and other stakeholders, driving the creation of innovative animations to enhance the user experience and raise product awareness for our products.
  • Fostering a collaborative environment where ideas are shared, and creative solutions are explored, offering feedback and guidance as needed.
  • Ensuring that brand systems and guidelines are upheld to the highest standard and that visual style, tone, and messaging are consistent across all motion projects to protect and reinforce our brand identity.
  • Managing workload effectively and delivering to a high standard on time and within budget.
  • Staying current with emerging trends and technologies in motion design, continually exploring new techniques to enhance project outcomes and push creative boundaries. Experiment with the latest tools and methods to elevate the quality and impact of our motion design output and champion new ways of working within the function.

About you

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with a strong portfolio demonstrating proficiency in motion projects in commercial environments.
  • A proactive mindset, a self-starter who doesn’t wait for others to bring ideas, can take a brief to the next level and champion new ways of working within the team.
  • Able to think big and small, show bold creative ambition, and flex and adapt a creative approach depending on the project’s scale, requirements, and deadlines. Able to prioritise, manage work and turn around projects on short timelines in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Detail-obsessed with a keen eye for design, striving for excellence from concept to execution. Able to interrogate the brief and think beyond the script, to sweat the small but important details like grading and sound design that contribute to the flow of the video.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively across departments and disciplines.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • A creative thinker who can balance a deep sense of collaboration with a strong point of view and express their ideas through storyboards and visual treatments.
  • Comfortable giving and receiving direction and feedback when working with other designers, our stakeholders and creative partners.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.

Skills

  • Expert knowledge of motion and design principles, AE, plugins and expressions and how to use them effectively.
  • A solid understanding of interface design and user experience principles (UI/UX). Working experience using Lottie.
  • Knowledgeable on the foundations of visual storytelling and how to apply it to motion briefs.
  • An understanding of video production, editing and post-production workflows.
  • Besides After Effects, confident using Premiere and proficiency in Figma and the usual design tools, e.g. Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.
  • Fluency in English (C1+)
