Perk becomes first travel and spend platform to integrate visa feature at the point of booking

5 MIN READ

  • 41% of people traveling for work needed a visa last year, yet most are still managing the process manually and out of pocket

  • Entry Ready removes that entirely by proactively surfacing visa requirements at booking, with eVisas and ETAs available to pay for without leaving Perk.

  • The second project to launch from Perk's Real Work Incubator, following Perk Events launch in January

Boston and London, 23 July, 2026: Perk, the intelligent AI-native travel and spend management platform, today launched Entry Ready, the first integrated workflow for eVisa and Electronic Travel Authorizations (ETA) payments for work travel. The feature proactively surfaces visa requirements from travelers’ passport profiles at the point of booking, with applications started and payment completed without leaving Perk.

Entry Ready is the second project to emerge from Perk’s Real Work Incubator, following Perk Events, the AI-powered module for team event planning that launched in January 2026. Available now to all Perk customers, it offers over 60 eVisas and ETAs available through a partnership with Sherpa, an AI-native visa solutions platform. Perk's visa partner Sherpa combines AI with over 350 government relationships, to update entry requirements before any other provider 92% of the time , with applications processed 20% faster than applying directly through a government portal.

The launch addresses one of the most persistent sources of shadow work in work travel: the manual, time-consuming process of checking visa requirements, managing changing rules and paying out of pocket. Entry Ready launched in two phases. Since January, the entry requirements feature has automatically analysed more than half a million trips, surfacing visa requirements from stored passport profiles before a booking is made. Today, Perk adds integrated payment: travelers can apply and pay for eVisas and ETAs at Perk checkout, giving finance teams a single line item for the full cost of a trip and travelers peace of mind.

"Keeping up with entry requirements adds yet another thing to people's plates. However, getting it wrong can mean missing a meeting, losing a deal, or not getting the job done. This is what Perk is built to do — handle the essential tasks that distract people from real work. Entry Ready removes the confusion, runs all the checks, and gives you exactly what is needed for that international meeting, without you having to ask. It's another step forward in our mission to remove shadow work so people can focus on real work, with real impact."  comments Nikita Miller, Chief Product Officer, Perk

The hidden cost of visas

New Perk research of 8,000 people traveling for work across Europe and the US found that 41% applied for a visa or ETA in the past 12 months. Of those, nearly half experienced issues, with the most common being visas not approved on time. 47% were forced to pay extra to expedite, rising to 57% among US travelers. The consequences are tangible: 36% incurred additional travel costs, 34% experienced project delays, and 16% canceled or postponed a trip entirely.

The financial impact compounds the disruption. 32% submit expense claims for visa documentation at least once a month, yet on average fail to reclaim up to two legitimate visa-related expenses, with 16% saying the effort is not worth it. Applications processed through Perk are 20% faster than applying directly through a government portal.

Methodology

Perk commissioned Censuswide to conduct an online survey of 8,000 employed professionals who travel for work at least twice a year at companies and file expenses for work travel, with 250 or more employees, across five markets: United Kingdom (n=2,000), United States (n=2,000), Spain (n=1,000), Germany (n=2,000), and France (n=1,000). Fieldwork was conducted between 15 and 28 April 2026.
